Who we are
"Thank you for visiting Brood Booch! Our names are Trey and Melissa. Two years ago we were on vacation in beautiful Panama. Inspired by the experience, we decided to bring a taste of that adventure back home, Brood Booch was born.
While on vacation we met up with some friends that we hadn’t seen in nearly 7 years. We introduced our kids to each other and proceeded to have the best week ever. Whale watching, chasing howler monkeys, eating mangos out of the trees and helping feed the animals on our friend’s farm. During our stay on their organic farm we had some long talks with them about the MANY fermented foods that they eat. Because they literally live on an organic farm and are foodies it was quite natural for them to start experimenting with food fermenting. That’s when we learned how genuinely easy it was to make homemade Kombucha. My wife and I had been buying it at the store for months and I would just scratch my head at how expensive it was everytime. Our week in paradise came to a close and we had to return to reality. Before we left though they packed us up a SCOBY mama in a SCOBY hotel (to go/para llevar). We brought it home and immediately began our own Kombucha journey. Now we want to share this hobby and positive lifestyle change with everyone and spread that sweet SCOBY love.
